Happy Friday VavaLovers!
This week we have some groundbreaking news in fashion…Check it out!
In the past, plus size models and shoppers had no clue as to what trends were out there to wear. Now thanks to fabulous plus size bloggers and stylist that cure and the punishment is a thing of the past. This week London Fashion Week made history with the help of UK brand Evans, hosting their first ever plus size runway show. The plus size retailer hosted a collective of 6 high end designer collaborations specifically for all my curvy divas with pieces from Clements Ribeiro, Giles Deacon, Hema Kaul, Jamie Wei Huang, Lulu Liu, Vita Gottlieb, and the winners of the CUT For Evans. The collection featured vibrant prints, shimmery iridescence, sheer panels, asymmetrical hems, and sparkling details. Groundbreaking! (Refinery29)
A while back we reported Pharrell Williams‘ Bionic Yarn fabric line with Adidas and here it is. Williams’ capsule for Adidas is said to be affordable (which I love) stylish and environmental friendly. The capsule is set to hit some stores and online this weekend (September 20) featuring red, blue and black sneakers and track jackets. This collection is so Pharrell Williams; the producer was seen rocking the red track jacket with a brown oversize Vivian Westwood hat during Grammy night. Not to worry you hardcore Pharrell fans, the capsule is not only around for the weekend but will also be around for the holiday’s. I have my eye on those red sneakers… What about you? (Ebony)
Kendall Jenner took over New York Fashion Week and now London Fashion Week. But not everyone is happy about the takeover of the reality star. Reports surfaced that her fellow models are not too pleased with the favoritism Jenner seems to get with countless campaign ad from walking in shows for Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger and Fendi just to name a few. In Touch reported that some models are complaining that it’s unfair that Jenner is stealing their spots on the runway. “Models can be cruel especially with someone new and entitled.” (Fashionista)
